Chestnut Post & Rail fencing originated in England, where it is commonly placed as natural fencing and enclosure of various estates. Because of the natural look of the chestnut wood, the Post & Rail is also often used in fencing horse pastures. An additional advantage is that horses do not like chestnut wood and therefore do not bite the fence. The Post & Rail construction is very robust and can take a beating.
