The chestnut post 18/20 cm head diameter is known for its natural look and durable character. The posts are peeled and spiked as standard. In this size, the posts are also often supplied unpointed or at right angles. Thus, this chestnut is often used as a table leg or incorporated into a natural bench. When peeling the chestnut pole, the bark is cut away with knives. Usually, bits of bark remain visible on the chestnut pole. We therefore refer to this as a cambio peeled chestnut pole or a debarked chestnut pole. Poles with a thicker dimension are also often used in wattle fencing. Sometimes they are set several metres apart and a wooden bulkhead is placed against them. But sometimes the chestnut posts are placed tightly side by side in the water in a row of posts. This is also referred to as a "male-to-male" placement. Because a large part of the chestnut wood in a wattle fence is submerged in the water, chestnut posts with bark are also used. This means that the bark is still around the chestnut post, making these posts cheaper than peeled posts.
