Chestnut fencing produced in France

The chestnut fencing we supply is produced in France. The wooden chestnut fences are durable in nature and therefore last for many years. The French fences are delivered in rolls of 5 and 10m. A chestnut post is normally driven into the ground every 2m or so, to which the fence is attached. We recommend driving the posts approximately 1/3 into the ground. The sheep fencing is made of split chestnut laths attached to each other by braided strong iron wire. The French fencing is available in various lath spacings in both 4/5cm and 8/10cm.

French chestnut fencing is distinguished from English fencing by its neater finish: the split intermediate laths are straighter, the iron wire is wound more tightly and the laths are more clearly and neatly trimmed. It therefore generally looks neater.
