Availability chestnut planks

Chestnut planks are relatively expensive due to the lower availability of the thick chestnut trunks. Actually, this is why few chestnut planks are used for the construction of verandas, sheds and other buildings. Usually, finely sawn oak planks are used for this purpose. Oak planks are a durable and cheaper alternative to chestnut wood. The difference in price can be as much as 20%. On request, we can also cut thicker planks or chestnut beams for you.

Oak planks

At van Biezen wood you can of course also go for your oak planks. We stock these planks freshly sawn in the length of 4 metres. The oak planks are available in various widths (15/20/30 cm) and thicknesses (2.5/3/4 cm). If required, we can also cut specific sizes for you. There is also the option of having the oak planks dried artificially. We do this in cooperation with reliable wood drying companies. Please allow at least 3 months for artificial drying.
